GATE 2013

Dear students,

GATE-Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India competitive examination for Engineers from various backgrounds administered and conducted jointly by the IISc Bangalore and Seven IITs.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All India entrance exam conducted yearly in the month of February for admissions to post-graduate programs in reputed IITS, IISC, NITs & top Engineering colleges in India. 

• GATE Score is mandatory for applying at PSU’s like ONGC, IOCL, BHEL, NTPC, Power grid, DVC, BARC etc.
• GATE qualification is also a minimum requirement to apply for various fellowships awarded by many Government organizations.
• Admission to M.Tech / M.E. with MHRD and some other Government scholarships/assistantships in engineering colleges/institutes is open to those who qualify in GATE examination

Application fee is free for female candidates

GATE 2013 Application Process:

·        Only ONLINE application will be accepted through Seven IITs & IISC official website.

·        Print out of the filled ONLINE application with the candidate’s signature and  photo must be submitted to respective GATE office along with necessary documents, if any, on or before 8^th October 2012.

How to downloadable Admit Card:

·        Admit card can only be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites from 5^th December 2012 onwards.

Mode of Examination :

·        The ONLINE examination will be conducted for these papers (AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF).

·        The OFFLINE examination will be conducted for engineering streams.

Eligibility:

·        Pre-final year students are not eligible to write GATE 2013.

·        Candidate with B.E / B.Tech Degree ( 4 year degree ) are eligible.

·        Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent are eligible.

·        Candidate with AMIE or AMICE degree are eligible.

Black ink ball point pen:

·        Candidates should use only black ink ball point pen for darkening of the bubbles in the answer sheet.

 Note:-

• GATE 2013 Application Forms aren't available for sale anywhere.
• Bring at least one original (not photocopies / scanned copy ) and valid (not expired) photo identification with Admit Card to the test centre.
